SAN DIEGO ART INSTITUTE AND CALIFORNIA LAWYERS FOR THE ARTS PRESENT: ARTIST-GALLERY AGREEMENTS WORKSHOP

SDAI will host the next California Lawyers for the Arts workshop on artist-gallery agreements. Join us on Tuesday, March 8 from 6-8pm to hear Jennifer Nelson cover California state laws governing consignment sales, as well as outline how to negotiate standard consignment agreements covering agency, warranties, transportation, insurance, pricing, gallery commissions, promotion, and return of art.

Jennifer Nelson is an attorney whose practice focuses on art, nonprofit, and intellectual property law.  Jennifer counsels artists and cultural institutions on a variety of matters, including intellectual property issues and the preparation of business agreements.  Prior to moving to San Diego, she worked for eight years as an attorney in the Los Angeles offices of two international law firms.  Jennifer is an avid supporter of the arts in San Diego, and currently serves as a Trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Balboa Art Conservation Center and on the Board of Directors of the Medium Festival of Photography.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hear her expert advice!
