San Diego Art Institute is releasing an album, more specifically, “Mixtape Vol. 1: Art’s All Over”. To coincide with the release, SDAI is launching a series of programs highlighting the best of San Diego’s music, sound, video, and performance art. The compilation album features bands that have played at San Diego Art Institute in the past year, including Prayers, L.A. Witch, Jamaican Queens, and Low Volts. “Mixtape Vol. 1: Art’s All Over” is the first music album released by a museum; it will be sold as a numbered, limited-edition cassette tape, as well as a downloadable album.

Please join us at the launch party on Friday, March 11th from 8pm-11pm. The lineup includes Angels Dust, queencore band Hit Bargain, with SoCal enchantresses L.A. Witch headlining. Additional music will be provided by SDAI’s favorite DJ Ana Brown, with video art courtesy of Xavier Vasquez.
