This holiday season, Wonderspaces is bringing a Virtual Reality Showcase to the San Diego Art Institute . On view from November 30 – January 5th, this hour-long immersive experience will allow our visitors to be guided through a series of four VR-films with no wait.
Our visitors will begin their experience by sitting down to DINNER PARTY, based on the accounts of Betty and Barney Hill, the couple who reported America’s first nationally known UFO abduction in the 1960s. After exploring the Hills’s very different other-worldly adventures, visitors will be invited to find their joy and shake their groove thing as part of an infectious and animated dance party with a virtual OLD FRIEND. This psychedelic squall of color and energy then transitions to a VR music video called CHOCOLATE, in which visitors find themselves cast as robots in a cat-centric world of colorful chrome. Interactive hand movements will allow guests to stimulate a dynamic responsive environment set to the music of Giraffage. The Showcase will end with TRANSITION, a short film inspired by the music of Kettel & Secede. A metaphor for death and the afterlife, this final piece takes visitors on a journey from one world to the next.
