SDAI Artist-in-Residence Performance Series: Brian and Ryan

Free for members and children under 12; $5 nonmembers; $3 students, seniors, and military personnel.

At the opening of Not Quite Nothing on Friday, August 19th, Brian and Ryan will be in the San Diego Art Institute’s main gallery performing on their half-pipe and teeter-totter. First, they will engage in combat on their 16-foot long seesaw for Teeter-Totter Gladiators. Next, they will engage in a one-on-one basketball game on their 24-foot long half-pipe for their performance of Basketball Half-Pipe.

On Friday, August 26th and September 2nd, look for Brian and Ryan at Park After Dark. They will help museum visitors arrive to the San Diego Art Institute in construction-grade style with their service-based performance Wheelbarrow Valet.  Be transported directly to the museum in the seat of a decked-out wheelbarrow. Look for the duo’s complementary service throughout Balboa Park.

On September 3rd and 4th, Brian and Ryan will be in the San Diego Art Institute’s main gallery performing on their half-pipe and teeter totter. On Saturday the 3rd, they will perform Ping Pong Half-Pipe. Come see the artist/athletes play a series of badminton matches on their 24-foot long half-pipe. The five game series will start at 11:00am with additional matches every hour. On Sunday the 4th, Brian and Ryan will perform Seesaw Timber Sports. The artists will execute their lumberjack skills in this woodworking competition. There will be matches at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00. (Safety glasses will be provided.)

On Saturday, September 17th, Brian and Ryan will have their final performances for the exhibition Seesaw Shuffleboard and Teeter-Totter Balance. Matches will begin at 1:00 and continue throughout the day.
