Angèle Lebert (b. 1973) is a French visual artist who currently lives and works in Phoenix. Since the age of seventeen, her work has been a “self-fiction” inspired by her intimate life.
Her current show “Solo”, at the Horton Plaza Project Space, is at the crossroads between the “Cycle of Love” and the “Cycle of F**k”. Enter her world and let yourself be carried away for this journey.

Both tragic and humorous, her drawings, photography, videos and performances make up pieces of her autobiography. The range of techniques used are linked to the plurality of time which underlies femininity: childhood memory, adult life, consciousness, unconsciousness. Her work integrates two points of view: one a realistic depiction of her body (performance, photography and video), and the other a fantasy story of her own life (drawings and paintings). Between solitude and encounters, her work is an emotional and interpersonal account of a contemporary woman’s life.

Angèle Lebert is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. She also has a PhD in Aesthetics of Photography.
